The young talent confirms his mastery of the junior category with a race victory
Tommaso Bosio (Ciclistica Trevigliese) won the second stage of the Internazionali d’Italia Series 2024 in the junior category. Elia Rial (Scott Racing Team) was second, followed by Diego Milan (ASD Rock Bike Team), who completed the podium in Esanatoglia.
“I have to say that the first lap was a bit of a disaster. I didn’t get the best start, but in a way I was expecting it, it was like this last year,” explained Tommaso, the leader of the standings at the end of the second stage. “I made a few too many mistakes and at the end of the second lap I honestly didn’t think I would make it. Then I got back into the lead group and the situation changed. I gained confidence and rode as well as I could. The stage is there, I feel good. Now I just have to defend this jersey until the end.”
There were 95 young riders at the start of the Santoporo XCO, waiting for the green light at 10:00 this morning under a warm sun to compete on the fast course in the Marche region. There were five laps, totalling 18 km, and the start was explosive, with a close battle between the top riders right from the start. At the end of the first lap Valentin Hofer (Union Maria Schmolln Ktm) led a trio formed by the European champion, followed by Elia Rial (Scott Racing Team) and Diego Milan (.ASD Rock Bike Team).
Just before the end of three of the five scheduled laps, the lead group regrouped. While Valentin Hofer seemed to be paying for the initial sprint, Ettore Fabbro (KTM – Protek – Elettrosystem), Giulio Peruzzo (Loris Bike Pro Team) and Tommaso Bosio (Ciclistica Trevigliese) joined the escapees.
At the end of lap 4 it was Tommaso Bosio, winner of the San Zeno di Montagna stage and leader of the Internazionali d’Italia, who took the lead ahead of an impressive Elia Rial, followed by Diego Milan.

“I am absolutely happy with the way it went, we could have done a bit better but it was a good race. I liked the way I dealt with Valentino from the start. I knew he had a good leg and is always very aggressive, so I tried to stay with him and in the final I gave everything to stay in front. Now I’m looking forward to a win, we need one after third in Albenga and second here. I’m really happy with the way this junior journey of mine has started.”

“I had a bad start to the season in Verona. I was not feeling well. Now I’m calmly building up to the rest of the season. I’m in no hurry, honestly. It’s all about experience and I’m having fun, so I think that’s the most important thing.”
