Paul Seixas’ remarkable feat, runner-up at Liège–Bastogne–Liège

26/04/2026 – Liège Bastogne Liège 2026 – Liège > Liège (259,5 km) – Tadej POGACAR (UAE TEAM EMIRATES XRG), Paul SEIXAS (DECATHLON CMA CGM TEAM) – Côte de la Redoute

Paul Seixas’ remarkable feat, runner-up at Liège–Bastogne–Liège Paul Seixas: “Finishing 2nd at Liège–Bastogne–Liège is a great reward”

“It was my first Liège–Bastogne–Liège. I really wanted to give everything to fight for the win, and even if Tadej (Pogačar) was stronger, I wasn’t far off. The very fast pace of the race suited us—even though it required greater efforts on the climbs, it meant less jostling and allowed us to stay calmer. My teammates did an incredible job all day to put me on the wheel of the World Champion at the foot of La Redoute. That’s what allowed me to hang on, even though it was very tough. I knew he would attack again on Roche-aux-Faucons, but I couldn’t follow him over the top, so I focused on the finale and securing 2nd place. I’m really very happy with this result, which rewards the work of the whole team.”
