Comeback Kid

It’s official.

Lance Armstrong made the “official” announcement during the Astana team training camp in
Tenarife, Canary Islands.  He’ll be making his Tour de France comeback in Monaco on July 4, 2009 at age 37.

He said that almost no one believed in him when he made his comeback from cancer in 1999.  He feels as motivated and fit now as he did then.

Jan Ullrich was interviewed by Eurosport.  He has no intention of un-retiring even though he’s overcome the bitterness surrounding his own retirement.  He’s now happy with his life and family.  He observed that Lance may be searching for fulfillment.  “He runs marathons, changes women and still can’t find what he’s looking for…  He certainly won’t return to finish second.”
