“The whole team did a great job, as they have done since the start of the season. Jaakko Hänninen rode hard in the final to catch the breakaways. At the top of the last climb, I was distanced but Jordan Labrosse and Bruno Armirail brought me back to the peloton with 3km to go, then Nicolas Prodhomme, who is a climber, launched the sprint perfectly. Finally, we did the double with Andrea Vendrame and I took the leader’s jersey, which is really a pleasure. It’s my first WorldTour victory. I’ve been patient up until now and today I was rewarded. The yellow jersey? That’s a bonus.”
