The Italian champion adds another prestigious win to her incredible palmarès, claiming back-to-back overall victories in the Corsa Rosa.
Elisa Longo Borghini has etched her name even deeper into cycling history. On July 13th, 2025, the UAE Team ADQ rider sealed her second straight Giro d’Italia Women title, donning the final Maglia Rosa on the podium in Imola after the eighth and final stage from Forlì. It was a hard-fought triumph, clinched after an intense battle with Swiss contender Marlen Reusser.
From the early-season UAE Tour to the Italian National Road Championship and now the Giro d’Italia Women, Longo Borghini’s 2025 campaign has been defined by consistency, grit, and big wins. And with more goals on the horizon, the best may still be to come.
“We’re proud and thrilled about Elisa’s achievement,” said Northwave founder and owner Gianni Piva. “She’s an extraordinary athlete and a true icon of Italian sport. For the first time in the Women’s WorldTour era, one of our athletes has won the Giro d’Italia Women. This is a historic moment for Northwave, and another important chapter in our longstanding commitment to women’s cycling – a journey that began years ago, with Elisa as a key figure then, just as she is today.”
