Team dsm-firmenich PostNL secured a fantastic first win with sprinter Fabio Jakobsen today, taking the victory on the opening stage at the Tour of Türkiye.
The Tour of Türkiye got underway on Sunday, with Team dsm-firmenich PostNL riding well together in the bunch throughout the day. Taking control of the break on a steady opening stage, the team stayed safe and attentive for any danger, looking to set up fast finisher Jakobsen for the finale. Coming into the closing kilometres, the speed ramped up and the team chose their spot wisely towards the front of the peloton. Moving forward and timing their run well, they brought Dutch sprinter Jakobsen into a perfect position to launch his final push towards the line. Showing incredible speed, Jakobsen then jumped from the wheels and didn’t look back, crossing the line first in Antalya to take his first win in the bright oranje stripes of Team dsm-firmenich PostNL.
