The director of the Giro d’Italia, Angelo Zomegnan, has been in talks with the mayor of Washington DC about a possible 2012 start of the race there. If it happens, the prologue and stage 1 would be there. DC Mayor Fenty is an avid cyclist and talks are ongoing, according to a NY Times article today.
