Tommaso Bosio Wins first race of the 2024 Internazionali d’Italia series

At the end of a thrilling neck-and-neck race with cyclocross world champion Stefano Viezzi, the Ciclistica Trevigliese rider won the junior category.
The first race of the 2024 Internazionali d’Italia series debuted in San Zeno di Montagna with a spectacular junior category.
132 riders took part in a 5 lap race on the Pineta Sperane XCO track (4 complete laps plus the first start).

After a full-throttle start, the best riders left the rest of the field in a duel full of twists and turns until almost the last corner.

Tommaso Bosio (Ciclistica Trevigliese) was the first to make a move at the start of the second lap, but he was joined by Stefano Viezzi (Work Service). The two stayed together until midway through the penultimate lap, when Viezzi accelerated and passed Bosio with a good gap, closely followed by Ettore Fabbro (KTM-Protek-Elettrosystem).

Just when it looked as if the junior cyclo-cross world champion was on his way to victory, Bosio had the strength to ride an exceptional final lap, closing the gap on his opponent and overtaking him before crossing the line in perfect solitude, 40 seconds ahead of Viezzi.

Behind them, Fabbro suffered a mechanical that forced him to abandon his dreams of a podium, which was won by an excellent Diego Milan (ASD Rock Bike Team), who finished 55″ behind Bosio.
The winner, Tommaso Bosio, said at the end of the race:
“Today has been very hard and I am very happy to be the winner. I had a bit of a crisis after Stefano’s attack. But in the last lap I felt good. On the climb I managed to catch him and get away. Now I’m going to try to keep the leader’s jersey of the Internazionali d’Italia for as long as possible. That is definitely one of my goals for the season.”
