The BCL Podium Hotel La Nucía hosts Team Polti VisitMalta’s first training camp toward 2026

The first official training camp of Team Polti VisitMalta ahead of the upcoming season is currently underway, from 11 to 19 December, in a new location: the Hotel BCL Podium La Nucía. This state-of-the-art complex is situated in the heart of the Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano in La Nucía, in the province of Alicante, at the foot of climbs beloved by cyclists such as Confrides and Aitana, in an area with quiet and safe roads. It’s a key reference point for athletes and teams across all sports, offering a fully equipped gym and facilities designed to support training, performance and health in a comprehensive way.

The Polti VisitMalta roster features 8 new signings and a total of 24 riders. These days are therefore crucial for bringing together the entire squad alongside the whole staff, training, outlining the 2026 race programme, optimising workload planning, carrying out in-depth testing with coaches and medical staff, and strengthening team cohesion — also through engaging meetings with management.

Team Polti Visit Malta’s general manager Fran Contador explains: “We’re delighted to make full use of the facilities and services of this excellent hotel, located in a region with ideal weather and a flourishing sports-tourism sector that offers cycling teams the best possible conditions in every respect. We share the strategic and value-driven vision of Hotel BCL Podium La Nucía and we hope this will be the first of many training camps here.”

“For the entire Hotel BCL Podium La Nucía, it’s a real pleasure to host such high-level athletes and to receive their full trust for their first training camp ahead of 2026,” stated the hotel’s management staff. “Since our opening last June, we’ve had the opportunity to welcome athletes of all kinds and disciplines, whether for training camps, competitions, or even as a sports residence. We are in a continuous phase of learning and improvement in such a specialised field as sport, where the ability to adapt to the specific needs of each team and athlete is essential. We are convinced that this collaboration is only the beginning and that we’ll be able to build new partnerships in the future, both with Team Polti VisitMalta and with all those who wish to find in Hotel BCL Podium La Nucía a solid base for the development of their sporting activities.”
