Stage 21: Paris
Chalk up another one! It was a long transfer back to Paris last night, around 300 kilometers. Today I walked the length of the Champs Elysee from Porte Maillot to Place de la Concorde, at least two miles each way with many pounds of camera gear.
Fortunately it was the same chief cop there this year as the last three and the photographers were able to work easily.
The race was nearly an hour late reaching the Champs Elysee. Today was pretty much the usual parade, with a short break of Vogondy and Barredo. Gert Steegmans won the sprint and Carlos Sastre is the yellow jersey winner.
And now early to the airport tomorrow for the long trip back home.
