Following a lot of problems between Bjarne Riss and Team Saxo-Tinkoff team owner Tinkoff, a surprising announcement came this week. Riis is giving up his company, Riis Cycling, to Oleg Tinkov. The team name was changed to Tinkov-Saxo. The partnership wasn’t expected to last much longer but handing over his company to Tinkov was the surprise. Riis will stay on to manage the team and not have to worry about the business side. Riis believes he and Tinkov will be able to work together despite previous issues.
