Claut will play host to a new gravel race in the Friulian Dolomites on 6 June 2026.
Registration is now officially open for the River&Peaks Powered by Dolomia gravel race, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 6 June 2026 in Claut (PN) and is included in the FCI calendar for Friuli Venezia Giulia. This event will bring the rapidly growing discipline of gravel cycling to the heart of the Friulian Dolomites, combining sport, nature and the promotion of local heritage.
The event’s epicentre will be Claut, a picturesque mountain town in the Valcellina, set against the extraordinary backdrop of the Friulian Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This authentic setting, characterised by dramatic Dolomite walls, lush forests, crystal-clear streams and expansive pastures, strikes a harmonious balance between humans and nature, where each trail whispers tales of tranquillity, perseverance and awe.
The Friulian Dolomites Natural Park is the perfect setting for gravel cycling, boasting a dense network of white roads and panoramic trails that embody the spirit of exploration, endurance, and discovery. Claut has long been a hub for mountain biking and outdoor sports, and the River&Peaks Gravel Race is a natural addition to this tradition, helping to strengthen the region’s sporting identity.
This new race is set to expand the gravel calendar in the north-east of Italy, further strengthening the growth of a movement that finds its most authentic expression in mountainous territories. The project aims to enhance Friuli Venezia Giulia’s environmental and scenic heritage by combining sporting challenges with responsible territorial promotion through a sustainable event.
Acqua Dolomia, a leading Italian natural mineral water brand sourced from the heart of the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park in an unspoilt UNESCO-recognised environment, will be the event’s title sponsor. This partnership is based on a shared vision of respect for the environment, well-being and the promotion of mountain regions.
