The 36th edition of the Clásica de Almería led over 183.3 kilometers from Pueblo de Vicar to Roquetas de Mar. A breakaway group that broke away immediately after the start was caught by the main field shortly afterwards. A second attempt to escape by a four-man leading group had little success in moderate winds along the Andalusian coast. As a result the main peloton tackled the final.
Several crashes were the result of a hectic finale.
Nizzolo was protected by his teammates where he had to work his way to the line.
