NAHBS Bike Show in Denver

The North American Handmade Bicycle Show taking place in Denver this weekend.  It’s a great show with lots of creativity and products. Among the most unusual are bikes from Calfe made from bamboo.

The two guy from Festka came all the way from the Czech Republic to show off their bikes and maybe to hit the slopes next week for a little skiing after the show is over.

These are their Rocket Wheels. See the video for more info.

Riivo shoes are all custom hand made to fit your foot. See the video for more details.

Gokisco hubs are built to run smoothly and to negate vibration and minimize friction. They’re very accurate. The hubs are free rotating and take 10-15 minutes to stop rotating when you spin them.  That means they go further and faster and keep the power. The company has also done work for Rolls Royce. They’ve been in business for 60 years. The bike hub is 4 years old and took 2-1/2 years to develop. They’ve sold over 300 in Japan so far. This one is titanium.

Moots Cycles built this bike for trail workers and people who need acces to the back country. They can carry a chain saw and other equipment.  These two guys look like a perfect fit.

Paul’s Components are made in-house in the US.  They’re doing lots of single speed and cyclocross.  They make dual pull brake levers called Duplex levers.

Wondering where your number 2 pencil went?

Black Sheep Bikes has some new and innovative designs.

Paketa Bikes is great for tandem riding.

Dean Bikes has been a leader in custom made bikes for many years and their reputation is still strong.

Bob Sampson has been a custom bike builder in the Denver area for many many years.

Chris Odom makes a modern hub with a vintage look to bring sparkle and bling to the bike wheel. They’re not specifically for ultralight racing wheels but are still pretty light.
