Muscat Classic 2026: A Step Forward

The fourth edition of the Muscat Classic, which will precede the 15th Tour of Oman scheduled for February 7–11, is undergoing a major change this year by moving up to the ProSeries category.
On February 6th, a new UCI points system will be applied to the ranking of the biggest one-day race on the Asian continent, placing it on a par with the Japan Cup at the end of the season.

Much more than just a warm-up race. Since 2023, the Muscat Classic has provided an opportunity for punchy riders to battle it out around the capital of the Sultanate of Oman. It is in the hills, mostly concentrated in the second half of the course, that the peloton spreads out, giving way to a battle that involves only about thirty riders on the heights of Al Bustan: knowing how to sprint is not a luxury if you want to make a difference. For the 2026 edition, the race’s promotion to the ProSeries category will give even more prestige to the prize at stake at the finish line. The stars of the spring classics will find this an opportunity to make their mark.
