Frohlinger Out of Tour

Johannes Fröhlinger will not start in Sunday’s eighth stage of the Tour de France. The German climber of Team Argos-Shimano is experiencing too much discomfort from his broken little finger.  In concert with the team management and the medical staff Fröhlinger has decided to go home for surgery. “This is a painful decision”, Fröhlinger said.

The abandon of the 27-year old ride is not only frustrating for himself, the team is also suffering a hefty loss. Fröhlinger performed a crucial role in the mountains for Team Argos-Shimano.

After the loss of Marcel Kittel, Team Argos-Shimano now has seven riders in the race.
