Alpentour Trophy 2021 Postponed From June To September

The organizers of the Alpentour Trophy, Austria’s biggest stage race in mountain biking, and the local authority of Schladming, together with Schladming Dachstein GmbH and Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen, have decided to postpone the 2021 event, which was originally to have taken place from 10 – 13 June, to a new date. The new date will be 16 – 19 September 2021. The date has already been approved and confirmed by the Austrian Cycling Federation (ÖRV) as well as the International Cycling Union (UCI).

“We expect 500 participants from 32 different nations for our race. Due to the wide variety of entry regulations caused by the pandemic, the situation was very uncertain for June,” explained organiser Gerhard Schönbacher, who will hold his race for the 22nd time in the holiday region in Styria.

“It was not an option for us to wait any longer. We could not impose this uncertainty on our participants or on our long-time partners in the region. We are very happy to finally return to Schladming, as we and also the athletes simply find the most ideal conditions there,” the Styrian looked ahead to his four-day race, which will once again lead over the fantastic routes and trails of the Schladminger Tauern.

We are already looking forward to the 22nd Alpentour Trophy in the Schladming Dachstein region.
