Second on yesterday’s stage 2, Dutch sprinter Olav Kooij took victory on stage 3 of the Tour of Britain. At the Vuelta, Léo Bisiaux records another top 10. Felix Gall remains 3rd in the general classification after stage 13.
Olav Kooij: “Happy to take that win”
“It is always nice to get a win, especially after yesterday when I took second place. I waited for the good moment to launch my sprint in the headwind, and I could find my way through. It was hard but I stayed patient and when I saw the 150m sign I thought it was the good time. In the final we did a really good job as a team, especially after the last corner where we succeeded in finding each other, which was really helpful with the wind. I am happy to take that win.”

That’s Olav Kooij’s points tally in the points classification at the Lloyds Tour of Britain. After three stages, he is level with Tim Merlier at the top of the standings and will therefore wear the leader’s jersey as best sprinter on stage 4.
