2026 Decathlon CMA CGM Giro Team

Luke Roberts, sports Director: “Aiming for an overall podium place”

“It’s been a great start to the season so far, with the team delivering strong results both in the sprints and in the mountains. As we move into the next phase with the Grand Tours, the goal is to build on that momentum and consolidate those performances. We head into the race with two main objectives. We aim for an overall podium place with Felix Gall. He’s had a strong build-up, with solid performances in the UAE Tour and Catalonia, and has been able to prepare well for the Giro. Gregor Mühlberger, Callum Scotson and Johannes Staune-Mittet are also in good shape and will provide valuable support in the mountains. In the sprints, Tobias Lund Andresen has already shown great form this season with three victories, so we’ll be targeting stage results with him. Tord Gudmestad, Rasmus Søjberg Pedersen and Oliver Naesen will be key in supporting him and setting up the lead-out. Overall, there should be several opportunities, and the goal is to convert those into wins.”

Like the number of stages victories the team has achieved at the Giro d’Italia. Half of those wins (4) have come in the last three editions, with Aurélien Paret-Peintre in 2023, Valentin Paret-Peintre and Andrea Vendrame in 2024, and Nicolas Prodhomme in 2025. Built around riders capable of winning both in sprints and in the mountains, the DECATHLON CMA CGM team will look to continue this winning streak in the 2026 edition.

News: Oliver Naesen to discover the Giro d’Italia
After ten participations in the Tour de France between 2016 and 2025, Oliver Naesen will discover the Giro d’Italia for the first time in the 2026 edition. A debut appearance for the former Belgian champion, who will bring his extensive peloton experience to support the team during what will be his 11th Grand Tour appearance.
