Pau, France
Today was a quiet, rainy rest day in Pau. A good day to do laundry, sleep and actually eat lunch. It was also a zoo at the Novotel where both the Astana and Saxo Bank teams are staying.
Contador did not do a press conference today but Andy Schleck did.

Andy Schleck was asked about his form for the Tourmalet and the rest of the stage tomorrow. He said he really likes the mountains. He doesn't like too many corners like on Alpe d'Huez. It's about 70k of climbing and he really likes getting into the rhythm. He said that if you're not a climber you probably shouldn't be there.
He said he doesn't know if he's reached his limit yet. He's been training a lot and hard and believes if he can do more of course it would be better. He's done a lot over the years to get more power. He thinks he's about reached his top shape.
This morning he went training with Bjarne Riis and now is doing the press conference. Afterwards he’ll go to his room and lock the door. If someone comes knocking, they’re going to get in trouble!

Several big climbs today in the Pyrenees, including the Col de Peyresourde, Col d'Aspin, Tourmalet and Col d'Aubisque. Lance Armstrong led the charge up the Tourmalet with a group of about 10 riders which included Chris Horner.

They stayed away all day until the finish line where Fedrigo edged out everyone else for the win.

The race went 184 km from Revel to Ax 3 Domaines in the Pyrenees. It was a relatively flat stage until the Port de Pailheres (hors category), about 15k from the start of the climb up 3 Domaines.

Christophe Riblon crossed the finish line first, 54 seconds ahead of his closest rival, Denis Menchov. He had escaped early on at 20k and stayed away.

Denis Menchov and Samuel Sanchez came in second and third.

Contador attacked several times during the day but couldn't get away from Schleck. Overall GC hasn't changed.

Chavanel, Flecha and Fedrigo escaped from the peloton at 4.5k and maintained the break for 4.5 - 6 minutes ahead of the peloton most of the day. They were caught 10k from the finish.

Lance is having a really lousy Tour. He crashed again during the neutral start.
